Somewhere between graffiti and a child's scribblings. The work beckons your to extend, to make a mark, to occupy space. Herein lies the essence of the artistic drive, transparent, communicative, with nothing to hide. During her residency at 59 Rivoli, Paris, artist Mila Morelli invited visitors to become integral participants in the creative process. The studios are unique in that they are open to the public six days a week, making them one of the most visited contemporary art sites in Paris. Initially, Mila admits, "I felt like I was in an artist zoo due to the constant influx of visitors. To break down that barrier, I decided to involve the visitors in the artwork itself. This led to the creation of a collection of 10 large-scale drawings." Each drawing had various prompts such as "something you hate," "favourite song," "favourite film," and more. From ancient cave drawings to contemporary urban art, these large-scale drawings often encompass political messages, declarations of love, and expressions of identity, drawing lines between individual perspectives and collective experience.
